With the Irish Research Council

This page briefly outlines the research studies that we have conducted in partnership with the Irish Research Council to date (N=2). The Irish Research Council have funded Dr Diane Cooper's PhD and Ruth Kavanagh's research Masters. 

Dr Diane Cooper's PhD Research:

Diane was successful in her application to the Irish Research Council for Science, Engineering and Technology (IRCSET) to fund her PhD work with Dr Donal O'Gorman in DCU. For the PhD Diane looked at the impact of different types of diet and exercise interventions on novel biomarkers of insulin resistance in individuals who were overweight and sedentary. Ruth Kavanagh's Masters Research:

The focus of Ruth's MSc research was to determine the impact of a 6-week community-based lifestyle education and physical activity programme on dietary intake, physical, cardiovascular and metabolic health of farmers living in Ireland. More information can be found HERE
